Terms of Service

Effective: [TO COMPLETE: effective date] · Last updated: 18 October 2026

This is a draft, not terms in force. The bracketed details are for the operator to fill in, and the document should be reviewed by a lawyer before publication.

1. Who you are contracting with

Provider: Györkös Balázs e.v. (sole trader)
Registered seat: 7634 Pécs, Bajmi dűlő 28., Hungary
Sole trader registration number: 6143550
Tax number: 63368101-1-22
Email: hello@sippa.io

By using Sippa you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

2. What Sippa is — and what it is not

Sippa is a self-tracking and self-awareness tool. It helps you record how much alcohol you drink, totals it in units, and reflects your patterns back to you.

Sippa is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it is no substitute for medical, psychological or addiction-specialist advice.

Never use the app's estimates to decide anything about driving. The blood alcohol forecast is a rough approximation, affected by your metabolism, medication, food, sleep and much else. The app never tells you whether you are fit to drive — it cannot know. Do not drive after drinking.

If you feel your drinking has become a problem, speak to a doctor or a specialist. In an emergency call 112 (EU) or your local emergency number.

3. Who may use it

The service is intended solely for people aged 18 and over. Where the legal drinking age in your country is higher (for example 21), you must have reached that age. By registering and giving your date of birth you confirm that you meet this requirement. The app checks the minimum age of 18 against your date of birth.

For the operator: the minimum age of 18 is now enforced. A higher, country-specific age is not yet checked technically (planned, built on the country field); until then this sentence rests on the user's own declaration.

4. Your account

5. What you may not do

6. Your content

The entries and notes you record remain yours. We process them only to provide the service; the Privacy Policy sets out the detail. We do not publish or sell them.

7. Fees

The core of Sippa is free of charge: the journal, the calendar, dry days, the sobriety forecast and the morning check all work without paying.

Sippa+ is a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly. The current price, what it unlocks, and the rules on renewal, cancellation and refunds are set out on the Sippa+ page, which forms part of this contract.

7.1 Renewal and cancellation

The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel; there is no minimum term. You can cancel in the app (Profile → Sippa+) or from the link in your payment receipt. Cancelling stops the next renewal: Sippa+ stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, after which the account moves to the free plan. We give notice of any price increase before it takes effect.

7.2 Payment and invoicing

Payment, invoicing and tax are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited as the Merchant of Record: Paddle is the seller in the payment transaction and the invoice is issued in its name. We never see or store your card details.

7.3 Withdrawal and refunds

As a consumer you may withdraw within 14 days of the purchase without giving a reason, and we refund the full amount; send the request to the e-mail address in section 13. The same applies to an accidental renewal if you tell us within 14 days of the charge. Refunds are issued by Paddle to the payment method you paid with; a refund ends the Sippa+ access.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, faults or a third-party outage may cause downtime. We may change or discontinue features; we will give notice of material changes.

9. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from decisions you make in reliance on the app's data or estimates — in particular decisions about your health or about driving.

Nothing here limits our liability for intentional harm, for breaches causing death or personal injury, or any right you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, or if your use endangers other people or the service. Deletion of your data on termination is governed by the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will give notice of material changes in the application or by email before they take effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you may terminate by deleting your account.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Hungarian law. As a consumer you may bring proceedings before the court for your place of residence, and you may also use the Hungarian conciliation board procedure; the competent board is [TO COMPLETE: county conciliation board for the registered seat]. Online dispute resolution: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
